Your info, kept simple

This site is run by John McKinney, The Red Beard Explorer. Here's what happens with your information when you visit or sign up for my newsletter.

What I collect

If you join the newsletter, I get your email address and, if you share them, your first name and country. That's it. You don't need to give me anything to browse the site.

How I use it

I use it only to send you my newsletter: new videos, stories from the road and news about the channel. Knowing your country helps me share things that matter where you live, like videos from your part of the world. I'll never sell, rent or trade your information.

Who stores it

My mailing list is stored with Kit, the email service I use to send the newsletter. Kit may record things like whether an email was opened, so I know what you enjoy.

Unsubscribing

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list. You can also email me to have your information deleted.

Videos, links and hosting

Videos on this site play from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. Once you press play, YouTube's own privacy policy applies. Some links go to partner sites like Trip.com, which have their own policies. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps standard security logs. Your browser also remembers how many pages you've viewed and whether you've closed or used the newsletter signup card, so it doesn't keep appearing. That note stays on your device and isn't sent to me.
